COZY READING CORNER

Well, summer is definitely over. And, you’ll be spending more time indoors for the next several months. Around this time every year I remember one of my favorite things to do is curl up in a quite cozy corner at home with a good book. If you don’t already have a go to reading nook at home – you should!

When it comes to creating a reading nook, there are several key ingredients.
  1. A comfortable arm chair or chaise lounge
  2.  A small area rug to define space
  3.  A lamp
  4.  One or two end tables
  5.  An ottoman
  6.  A throw blanket or two
  7.  A clock
  8. And, last but definitely not least, drapes. Preferably something with some texture to make the space feel warm and cozy.
Here’s an earthy modern spin on these ingredients:

Parlour Tangerine Chair – CB2, Marquis Rug – West Elm, Tripod Wood Floor Lamp, Bubbles Ceramic Side Table – West Elm, Ikea Stockholm Table – Ikea, Knitted Grey Pouf – CB2, Cozy Throw – West Elm, Ceramic White Alarm Clock – West Elm, and Fabricut - Camp Wilder 05 (fabric)

▲ WHAT THE HECK IS A HEXAFOO? ▲

This is a question we get a lot at Hexafoo, so we thought we'd take a moment to explain the name. Hex signs or Hexafoos are a type of folk art popular with the settlers of Pennsylvania Dutch country. Although hexafoos vary in design, they generally take the form of a six-sided star within a circle.
Hexafoos became popular barn decoration in Pennsylania Dutch country in the mid 19th century. Hex signs were originally displayed for mostly decorative proposes or to emphasize the residents heritage – over-time hexafoos have become known for their mystical powers and are believed to ward off evil spirits or bad luck and bring luck.
